Amber and Luke | A first anniversary and Lake Cushman

They were married in September below a low hovering cloud that couldn't quite decide if it would let up with the rain. The day was slow paced but eventful and conserved yet vulnerable. Porpoises jumped in the bay below their wedding dinner and a sun dog gave one last close out on their day.

Amber reached out recently wanting to document her and Luke after completing their first year of marriage. Anniversary sessions have become so meaningful to me, not only because I'm a few years into marriage myself but also to reconnect after the wedding when the flowers have died, the memories have started to fade and new excitement is brought on the for the next milestones.

We boarded the Bremerton ferry knowing just how much ferries have held such sentimental meaning to the two of them, as we headed en route to Lake Cushman.

The light and landscape greeted us in a new and different way, albeit just as powerful as their wedding.
