Moody Gay Wedding at Marigny Opera House in New Orleans | Bobby & James
Bobby and James’ November wedding marked the last wedding of my season for 2017. It certainly ended the chapter of my wedding season with grace, drama (the good kind) and elegance. Bobby and James expressed to me that the wanted the haunting look of mood, contrast and dark to their images so it was a photography delight to play around with light as they made time for portraits.
Planned by Clark and Kelly, I was blown away by each masculine but sexy touch brought together. The velvet linens, the brass line that brought guests to champagne, the bistro lights and the family style dinner in low light. All of it was so beautiful, and I feel so honored to have captured every moment at the Terrell house and Marigny Opera House. The blue and green tuxes were such a good touch.
The couple waited at a nearby bar and shared cocktails with their family and friends as guests arrived for the ceremony. Their ceremony also held their toasts instead of at dinner, a special touch to have it be more of a community gathering and getting others involved during the ceremony.
I was delighted to have Sophie Berard shoot with me this day. I’ve admired her work for a long while and loved her presence with me that day. Several of her images are below.
